SUMMARY: The paper lays out the principles that animate The Stop’s programs and that have supported its expansion. As well, a range of informants was interviewed to generate feedback on the challenges and opportunities for replication of the model. Interest from other communities was confirmed and some of the challenges underscored — particularly those relating to leveraging the necessary financial resources. The authors propose a three-year plan moving toward replication, including a joint private-public funding strategy, a pilot phase,and the development of an umbrella organization to help resource and oversee the founding of a network of community food centres across Ontario.
