US-based Wholesome Wave is not only making a case to prevent diet-related diseases before they start, they’re putting into practice an innovative model that has shown measurable results and have recently received significant funds to scale up. By working across sectors with doctors, farmers, and policymakers, their programs marry food education and subsidized healthy food access in ways that are seeing promising improvements in both health and local food systems downstream.
In this one-hour webinar, we’ll look at how Wholesome Wave is getting good food into the hands of vulnerable communities — from prescriptions for fruit and vegetables and matching incentives at farmers markets to a national network that offers grants and training for programs offering subsidized healthy food access.
Michel Nischan, award-winning chef and CEO of Wholesome Wave joins us to share his recipe for addressing diet-related chronic disease at the root, with measurable benefits to people’s health. CFCC’s Chief Operating Officer, Kathryn Scharf, will moderate the conversation.
